Do Dogs dream? Have you ever wondered if your dog has dreams while he’s sleeping? According to science, there is no reason to believe that they don’t. An expert from Harvard University recently told for a People magazine’s interview that dogs do have dreams while sleeping and that most probably they’re dreaming about their humans.

Still, this is just a speculation based on the fact that most mammals have a similar sleep cycle to humans. The mammals also have a deep sleep stage, in which the brain is much less active, and then go into periods of activity called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, in which dreams occur for humans.

So, there is no reason to believe that your furry friend sleeping on the couch next to you is not dreaming.  And what his dreams are about? Most probably about you!

”Since dogs are generally extremely attached to their human owners, it’s likely your dog is dreaming of your face, your smell and of pleasing or annoying you,” Dr Deirdre Barrett told People magazine.

It turned out that the Internet went crazy about this statement and soon photos of dogs having a sleep were all over it, with heartwarming statements of their owners. We already knew that they’re our best friends, but this thought that they are even dreaming about us seems to strengthen this bond between us even more.

Check out some of the tweets connected with Dr Deirdre Barrett statement and try to hold your tears.
